A story inspired by passion.

The Estezo-Bennicke family are sixth generation Canadian farmers who immigrated to Ethiopia in 2024.

Following his conversion to Islam in the early 2000’s the Head of the Estezo-Bennicke Family, Jerson-Daniel Ibn Orlando, has been involved with the halal meat industry. Ibn Orlando has spent the last 25 years studying the practical application, through research and development, of biological and organic propagation methods, and more recently, its application methods into the ruminants feeding system.

After relocating their family to Ethiopia several years ago, and now are dedicating themselves to sourcing and raising one of the region’s most prized animals: the Somali breed sheep. The Somali breed sheep is the original black headed breed, with the closest direct descendant of the Somali breed sheep being the Blackhead Persian.

Recognized by its distinctive black head and the fat hump beneath the tail, Somali breed sheep are often mistaken for the Blackhead Dorper—but they are an entirely different breed altogether with superior meat quality. The Dorper breed’s do grow faster, which has caused a greed-based and biased narrative of their supposed superiority. Many experts and consumers agree that Somali breed sheep produce richer, more flavorful, more exotic meat, sought after globally by seasoned meat connoisseurs and food lovers alike.

Although the Somali breed is already available through Haya Farms now, in late 2025, Ibn Orlando Estezo announced that after years of research and development, 2026 would be the year that the NEW!, Exclusive and Highly Anticipated: Super Organic Somali breed, would be first released on the market.

How much meat do I need to order?

Our minimum and maximum order quantities are designed to accommodate both smaller and large-scale buyers. Orders can range from 1 to 5,000 units, depending on your needs and contractual arrangements. This flexibility allows us to serve individual buyers, businesses, and bulk purchasers efficiently.

Will you deliver our order to us?

Yes, delivery options are flexible. We can arrange delivery on your behalf, you may pick up the order yourself, or you can arrange your own shipping through a logistics provider of your choice. Our team will coordinate with you to ensure the option you choose aligns with your timeline and destination requirements.

What if I need to cancel my order?

Orders may be cancelled at any time without penalty, unless otherwise specified in your contract. If contractual terms apply, those conditions will be clearly outlined in advance. We recommend notifying us as early as possible so we can assist with a smooth cancellation process.
